Royal Wedding

We went to our local pub to watch the royal wedding. I had spoken to the manager earlier in the week and told her that we didn't have a TV (or teley as they say here) and would it be ok if we came a little early to watch the wedding? She said, "no problem." So we got to the pub about 20 minutes before they opened. Leah wore her dress-up wedding veil, and we enjoyed tea and scones. I thought it was quite humorous that we were the only ones there watching it...in fact, some other folks came in, but just to get away from it at home! Hah...the local Americans more interested in the royal wedding than the locals :) I must say that she looked absolutely stunning, and he looked handsome as well. Did you all watch the drama?

Alphabet

Leah's been working on her letters. The other night I was making dinner, and she called me in the playroom to show me her alphabet. She doesn't feel comfortable with "s" or "z"...so that's why they aren't there. Not too shabby, huh?

Snail Slime

As we were leaving yesterday, I noticed a snail crawling/gliding (whatever they do) across the wall of our flower bed. Both girls were fascinated with it. In typical fashion, Leah just wanted to look, while Aine tried to touch it. Maybe that's the French in her coming out ;)

When we got home, the snail was in the flower bed, and the wall had his snail slime trail on it.

The Orchard

On Sunday one of Eric's friends was passing through England and wanted to meet up in a little restaurant/hangout place called The Orchard. Very, very cool place. We had to wait until the girls awoke from their naps, so we were a little later getting there than we'd intended. We missed him by 5 minutes! Bummer! But we are so in debt to him for telling us about this hidden gem in Cambridge :)

It's an outside hangout, with lounge chairs and tables spread throughout the orchard. You can order tea and desserts and just hang out. While Eric got our yummy snacks and tea, the girls and I took some pictures of ourselves. I wish I'd taken more pictures of the place itself, but I'm sure we'll be back :) Overall, a very lovely day.

Aine and Leah have turned into tea addicts :)

I had so much fun watching Aine try not only to sit up, but to get more cake. The chairs were so reclined, that she was having a hard time. I thought I'd take a video and laugh at her attempts rather than help her :)

Ring Around the Rosie

Welcome Home Daddy!

Eric got made it home safely on Monday from a three week TDY...yay!! We went grocery shopping on Sunday and Leah asked if we could make Daddy a cake...a PINK cake. Heck yeah! The girls had a great time decorating the cake and did a surprisingly good job with the sprinkles (I was expecting them to all be dropped within one square inch on the cake). We also colored a welcome home sign. Leah knew he was going to be home while she was sleeping, and she asked me to have Daddy wake her up when she got home. In God's wonderful timing, Eric came upstairs just as Leah was going back to bed from her potty break. I heard the joyful reunion, and Eric came in the room on cloud 9! He said Leah's feet started running in place before she was able to move and then she screamed, "Daddy!" (Actually I'm surprised that she didn't wake Aine up). We hope you're have a great week too!

Funny Face

Here's Aine trying to imitate the funny face my Dad (Pop-Pop) makes:
