A Walk in the Park

Eric got home from North Carolina Friday night and that made for a really great weekend. We went to the FWB Landing on Saturday afternoon and walked around "downtown". (I still have a hard time considering it downtown...as compared with a bigger city.) We let her walk on the boardwalk and then in the shaded playground. Even with all that shade, she was getting a bit flushed, so we left a little early. Today we had the Butties over for some snacks, wine and games...Apples to Apples and Taboo. Leah was great and enjoyed Aunt MarCi and Uncle Steve's laps!

A Good Book

Enjoying some light reading while her diaper is changed...

Speaking of good books...I just finished Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth sequel...World Without End. They are now both in my top 10 favorites...very well written and completely addictive. Anxiously awaiting the next in the Eragon series....

Our Little Rose

Hi everyone. Here are some fun recent pictures. We're all doing well and enjoying our weekend!

Enjoying her pool on a HOT Florida day...

From "hmmm, I'm getting a little grumpy" to all smiles within seconds...

Eric got Leah (and me...awww, so sweet!) some flowers and we were trying to get her to smell them. She finally got the idea but enjoyed shoving them in my nose the most! She also was trying to hug them...

Eating her beloved blueberries...

On the way home from Destin Commons last weekend after going in the fountain. Note the leg...

Happy Birthday Eric!

Happy birthday to Eric! We had a fun day and went to the outlet mall for lunch and a little shopping. We hadn't really thought about the traffic (on 4th of July weekend) until we were halfway there. Thankfully Leah slept most of the way because it took us an hour longer than normal to get out there! Then we went to the Destin Commons and introduced Leah to the "run-though" fountain. We weren't sure how she'd react, but she loved it. In fact she cried (alot) when we took her out to go home. We went for hibachi for dinner, and Leah enjoyed it. She was more fascinated with the fishtank than the hibachi cooking though....although she was pretty attentive when the fire was lit!

Happy Independence Day!

Hi all! Our elderly neighbor puts flags out along our road on certain holidays (4th, Memorial Day, Veteran's Day) and it looks so nice. Eric and I kept saying we needed to take a picture, but keep forgetting, so this year Eric went out the other night and took some pics before we had a chance to forget.

We went to the FWB Landing this afternoon to see the festivities and both wished we'd decided to attempt to stay for the fireworks since Leah was doing so well. It was such a nice evening. We came home and grilled some chicken and zucchini and decided to light some sparklers and a "tank". Leah was completely unimpressed. In fact she was more interested in the leaves than the fireworks...oh well. Maybe next year!

We checked on her before going to bed the other night, and she was sleeping so cute....
We put up some new gates at the tops and bottoms of the stairs. Leah loves to swing the gate, sit on the first step and then pull the gate onto herself. She racked herself in the face once, but was so interested in the gate that she didn't even bother crying.
