Happy 2nd Birthday Leah!

Leah turned 2 yesterday, and we had a fun day.  We met with Tracy and Katherine at the Niceville park where the girls played in the water fountains and on the slides. Then after a (very short) nap for Leah, we went to Baskin Robbins for some birthday ice cream...which she (we) thoroughly enjoyed :)  "I do, I do..."

Major Hanley and the New Odyssey

Eric and Leah in the new minivan....which we just LOVE!  Leah really likes it and loves to stand on the driver's seat and play with all the knobs, buttons and levers.  Everyday she asks to go out and play in the car...which she calls "mine" (just like everything else by the way)...

Racked out for an early nap on our big Odyssey-buying day...
Playing and reading with Katherine, the Ham!

Snuggling after church last Sunday.  One of the ladies in the nursery put her hair in pig tails...

Eric pinned on Major on May 1st (while deployed), but he wanted Leah to pin him on here.  He cut off the pins on the rank and put double-sided tape on the back.  Then he had Leah put them on his shoulders...it was adorable (and of course, Leah was soooo proud of her accomplishment!)

Leah's '2 Year-Old' Photos

Leah turns 2 on Saturday, so we had some pictures taken for posterity :)

A Busy Week

Eric's been home a little over a week now, and he's had a pretty busy one!  Of course he has his honey-do list :) , but we've done some shopping, playing in the sprinklers, getting Leah's hair cut and hanging out at the beach.

We joined Chris, Tracy and Katherine at the beach (actually it was the bay...which was perfect because it was warmer, calmer and more shallow) and had a really relaxing day. Leah had some snacks, but loved the doritos the best (and her orange goatee proved it).  She had a blast shoveling sand into her bucket, walking in the water and being thrown in the air by Eric.

Eric was taking Leah for a walk one evening and forgot he'd put the sprinklers on.  Leah thought it was an invitation to go running through them.  In fact at one point, she thought Eric should join her and "dragged" him in. At one point she stopped and waved to the sprinklers :)

These boots are made for walking...
Eric and I at Vintij for a delayed birthday dinner.   It was sooooo yummy.  The picture under this one was my birthday dinner there when I was pregnant with Leah (I'm about the same stage in both photos)...

Welcome Home Eric!!

Eric (and Chris) made it home on Thursday after their 2-month deployment. In typical military fashion, they were supposed to come in at 5:50, then it was 12:50, then it was 3:30, then 3:15...they finally made it in around 4-4:15. But the bottom line is that they made it home safely :) We hung out in one of the hangars...it was pretty hot out, but there was a great breeze. The girls did surprisingly well considering we were there a couple hours. They passed the wait time by chasing each other around the hangar, then they chased each other around me, then they chose some random woman and started running circles around her! As it got closer, we propped them up on the barricades so they'd have a front row view of the plane coming in, and their daddies walking up. They were really excited when they saw the plane, and we had them waving at it, saying "hi!". The local news photographer took our picture.  (you can check it out at http://nwfdailynews.emeraldcoastphotoswest.com/mycapture/enlarge.asp?image=23504341&event=748678&CategoryID=28208&picnum=6&move=F#Image )...we're pictures 13-15.  It's so great having Eric back..Leah's been saying "Daddy, Daddy" pretty much non-stop :)

they were the only ones to break out of the "receiving line" and see their family first...
