A Great Week!

This was a really great week! For many reasons (in no particular order)...

Eric returned from NY. He was up there as part of his presidential advance job. I'm so proud of him: he was the only agent there at first and did all the prep work for Obama's arrival. He was a little nervous about it, but everything went well! Of course :) He was able to see his parents and spend their 39th anniversary with them. Congrats Karen and John!! They visited West Point and then Eric got to spend some time with a friend of his upstate.

Aine is sleeping very well. Before Eric left, she was sleeping from about 10-3/4, but now she's at 9-5/5:30. God picked a good week for her to start sleeping through (while I was alone at home with the girls). Praise Jesus for little blessings! Although I consider long stretches like that big blessings.

Leah is potty trained! I've been putting it off, but finally decided I just had to do it (plus I wanted to try and surprise Eric by having her trained before he returned). We practiced the procedure with her bunny, Hop, first...and she was way more interested in dumping out Hop's "pee" in the toilet than anything else. When it was her turn to sit, she fought me and cried. Once she did pee and got to dump it in the toilet...it was all uphill from there! She dumped it out and yelled "more" :) We started Wednesday and as of today have only had about 3-4 accidents. She gets so excited when she realizes she has to go that she yells "potty, potty" and runs to it. Sometimes she forgets to pull down her panties, but all things considered...I'm really pleased. She even went poopie in the potty. I took a picture of it (because I'm sick and want to embarrass her when she's older and looks at her baby book..hehehe). Eric told me he'd kill me if I put it on the blog...so you can thank Eric for me not posting it! :)

Aunt Sharon and Frank came to visit for a couple days. We get to see them twice a year when their group meets. They're making a short vacation out of it this time and will stop through again on their way home...which will coincide when Dad comes up!

Aine had her 2 month check up. She's 13 lbs, 10 oz. (has gained 5 pounds in 2 months) which puts her in the 93rd percentile!!! She's all cheeks and chins, with no neck :) BUT she's healthy and happy!!!

Leah and Katherine walking hand in hand at the outlet mall. They were sooo adorable! This was shortly before they tripped over each other. Leah fell on her face and got a fat lip. Katherine flipped over Leah and hit her head. Ouch!

Leah taking a break from potty training to read her bunny a book (Peter Rabbit)...

Family night at the mall. She and Sydney were chasing each other (and a couple other kids) around the pillar...

Eric and Karen in the church at West Point...

happy baby...

As part of her potty training process I've kept her in a shirt and panties, but sometimes she'd take them off and run around naked. After she got naked she decided to play dress up, threw on a dress and tried to put on a pair of pants. They ended up on (but inside out AND backwards)...without panties on. Gives new meaning to the term "chaps".....
Eric getting flipped off...

With Aunt Sharon...

Seriously...who sleeps/sits like this????

Aine sure can give some goofy looks!

BFFs

Katherine came over the other afternoon while Tracy cleaned up the demolition/construction zone in her kitchen. I thought it was too cute that she'd packed Katherine the same PJs Leah chose to wear! Don't they look precious?!

Aine's 2 Months Old!

Again, nothing too eventful happened this past week. I guess that's good :) Aine's on a good schedule, getting up once at night and then feeding about every 3 hours during the day. She's getting better at burping, so she's much happier (thus so are we). Also her baby acne is almost gone...and I've managed to remove most of her cradle cap. Her hair's getting a little lighter...and thinner :) She was 2 months old yesterday; time is really flying! Time to update the baby book again.
Leah's still doing a great job as big sister. She thinks Aine's burp cloths are blankets and insists on covering her with them. We've drilled it into her not to cover Aine's face, and she's been listening to us...thankfully! She's really enjoying playing with her Legos. She'll build a "tall tower" and then have even more fun knocking it down. She's also really talking to us now...speaking in actual sentences versus just one/two word phrases. Granted, those sentences may not include verbs or other parts of speech, but it's truly exciting to see the development. She repeats everything we say!

Naked baby butt...ready for a bath!
Enjoying some tummy time.
Love this one! It almost looks like Aine has her arm around Leah...

I put Aine down (on Leah's beloved "aml bankie" (translation: animal blanket)). Leah grabbed one of her favorite Pooh books, laid down next to her and started reading. It was too cute!

Nice mohawk Spike!
Eric was organizing some work gear, and Leah decided to play dress up. (but first she had to go put on her bathing suit top)
