Leah meets Emma Kate
Our friend Alice came to Destin for a short vacation with her twin sister, Abbey. We finally got to meet her daughter, Emma Kate, who is two months older than Leah and just a doll! Leah provided quite a bit of entertainment the first night because she would cry every time Emma Kate excitedly showed off her voice. Eric and I, Jeff and Laura, and Janelle joined the girls for lunch at Big Apple Bagels before they got back on the road to Birmingham. Alice and I are new moms, Abbey and Laura are both pregnant, and Janelle (who took the picture) is also pregnant...must be something going around :)

"Hair"y moments
Lil' pumpkin
We decided to carve pumpkins this year since we have our own lil' pumpkin (awww!). We have the papa, mama and baby pumpkins. Our friends, Steve and MarCi, joined us, and we all had a great time!

"Who's your Pop-pop?"
My dad came to visit for a couple days on his way out to Portland. It was great seeing him with Leah (can we say "wrapped around her little finger"?) and just seeing him in general. They had their portraits taken, and there were so many good ones it was hard to choose. Eric and I were expecting to hear his mantra,"Who's your Pop-pop?", a couple times, and he definitely didn't disappoint! Drive safely dad...we love you!

'Real' food
Leah had her first experience with 'real' food the other day...rice cereal. She had a confused look on her face when we put a spoonful in her mouth, but otherwise seemed to enjoy it. She tried to blow bubbles with it a couple times (like she does with her saliva). We dressed her in her Yankees jersey for a game last week...sorry dad, but we don't have a Red Sox one! She also got to go for a quick ride in the Cambird with Eric on Friday...it was a gorgeous day! We're all doing really well and are going to start babyproofing the house pretty soon. For those of you who've seen all of our...'stuff'...know why we're starting now. It could take a while (not to actually babyproof, but to convince Eric to get rid of some stuff :) ).

Computer's out
Hi! Our computer decided to stop working, and I just realized how much we use it! It looks like we should be back up and running in about two weeks, though. In the meantime, I'm using the library and a neighbor's computer. Eric is back to his squadron, and we're back to a "normal" routine. We have to take Leah in for her 4 month checkup today and her second round of shots (which we are not looking forward to). Here are some recent pictures and video. Enjoy and God bless!

Home sweet home
Leah is four months now (on 30 Sept), and it's gone by so fast! She's enjoying sleeping in her own crib again and is determined to explore it. I put her to bed in one place and find her the next morning somewhere completely different. She's usually rolled herself over too. She seems to enjoy our evening walks and is fascinated watching the trees and houses go by...her feet definitely entertain her too :)
