Stopping To Smell the Roses
The roses are in bloom here, and they are everywhere! It's so beautiful! We have rose bushes all around the house, ranging from red to pink to white. I've started to stop and smell them because they are soooo fragrant and wonderful. Now, every time we walk by the roses on the way in the house Leah has to stop and smell them herself saying, "Mommy aren't they so wonderful!?" Hehe. And so now Aine, ever the imitator of her big sister, wants to smell them on her own. After dropping off Leah at school one day, Aine stopped walking and decided to "smell" a rose of her own.

Pig Tails
I put Aine's hair in pig tails the other day. She looked so cute :) At first she kept feeling at them, and I thought she was going to pull them out. But she kept them in almost the whole day! I told her to look in her little princess mirror, and she was making the sweetest looks and smiles at herself :)

Portrait of Aine
A friend took a photo of Aine at our squadron Easter Egg Hunt. She has her our photography business and does some really neat stuff with photos. She "painted" the picture. She put it on her blog. Here's a link if you're interested: http://kimkalian.wordpress.com/2011/05/03/art-photography-paintings/

Our Garden
We planted a little vegetable garden about a month ago so we could show the girls how a seed transforms into a plant/food. They both helped us plant the seeds and have really enjoyed watering the garden with their own watering cans. We chose the square-foot-method; so within a 3x3 area we are growing lettuce, spinach, strawberries, tomatoes/basil, parsnips, zucchini (or courgettes as the call them here), cucumber, carrots and peas. Things are sprouting pretty well...can't wait to start harvesting something :)
